Grass Fed Milk Whey vs. Cheese Whey?

Native whey from raw sport is derived from fresh milk and not cheese. 85% of whey protein products on the market are derived from cheese. The milk origin results in a superior amino acid profile that delivers 14% more of the BCAA amino acid leucine than cheese derived whey protein.

Leucine is the most important amino acid for muscle recovery and growth and is directly involved in muscle protein synthesis, which is the mechanism for repair and increased strength of muscles. 30 minutes after intense workouts, the rate of muscle protein synthesis increases by up to 300%. Grass-fed whey comes from grass-fed cows. These animals are raised on organic pastures and eat natural, plant-based diets — not the corn or soy diets filling the troughs of conventional farms. Because of this, grass-fed whey protein has higher levels of immune-boosting, bioactive compounds. Research showed that grass-fed dairy consists of higher levels of Omega 3 fatty acids and lower Omega-6: Omega-3 Fatty acids resulting in a more favourable ratio.
